In recent times, theories have become an essential part of the nursing profession, allowing for the growth of research publications and expanding education across continents. According to Alligood (2018), the theory has not only elevated patients and their families to the forefront of care but has also assisted in creating novel technologies. If the goal of nursing theory hadn't changed toward the end of the 20th century, the nursing practice wouldn't be as advanced and comprehensive as it is today. Because of nursing theory-guided practice, nurses can better comprehend and communicate what they do for their patients. On the other hand, it helps nurses learn how to provide interprofessional care and why they do so.
