The development of technology over the past century tended to shift the focus of medicine away from a service-oriented, caring model and toward a special, cure-oriented model that extended people's lives. However, over the past few decades, doctors have found a way to balance their care by focusing on the more spiritual roots of medicine. Serving the whole person physically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually requires spiritual or compassionate care (Christina, 2015). This kind of service is fundamentally spiritual and transforms lives. According to this study, spiritual care significantly contributes to improved quality of life in long-term care facilities. This has proven to be effective method of integrating technology and human compassion in healthcare.
