Identify two stakeholder barriers you might experience during the implementation phase of your evidence-based practice project. This could range from support of the evidence-based project proposal to communication gaps. How could you address these problems?
Example.
Organizational culture and a lack of EBP knowledge and skills are two stakeholder obstacles that I might anticipate encountering during the implementation phase of my evidence-based practice (EBP) project. Stakeholders may resist change if the organization's culture devalues EBP. It can be difficult for leadership and staff to support and adopt the change project when leadership models a negative attitude toward EBP. The implementation team would need face-to-face discussions with key stakeholders about the EBP project's mission, vision, and plans to overcome the first obstacle. If stakeholders are familiar with EBP or understand how the EBP project will improve patient outcomes, they may resist change. The EBP team would like to educate stakeholders about the plans for the EBP project to avoid the second obstacle. During the implementation phase, shareholders involved at the beginning of the planning phase will be more likely to promote the EBP change to staff and leadership.
