Stress in the modern family- Identify and describe a family from a film

Discussion Conference choice 1: Lights, Camera, Action: family roles and stress in the media

We already have readings related to stress in the modern family, but we also know that, as Shakespeare said, All the World’s a Stage. Identify and describe a family from a film, television show, or novel that is dealing with a stressor or stressors, including (but not limited to) situations described in this week’s reading, such as single-parent families, blended families, and families with adopted or foster children. For this conference choice mention

  1. A brief overview of the characters and situation/context of behaviors
  2. Mention how this family attempts to deal with their stressors. As a student of behavioral science (or even starring yourself as a new character in the script, of a Counselor or Social Worker, take it as a simulation or role play if you like), how do you think they might they cope with their stressors more effectively?
